Tennis Tournament

Jared played in a tennis tournament this weekend. He played singles and mixed doubles with Megan Dalley. He was a little disappointed in the way he played. The competition was pretty tough. The worst part was a family, brothers, sisters and cousins all with the last name of Wright. The kids ranged in age from 10 to 14, and they are amazing players! They must live at the tennis courts! They played up, so they were in the older age brackets. It's pretty hard to take, losing to such young players.

His singles matches were played at the IF High Courts. Of course it was really windy on Thursday, at least it was hot not cold wind.

The mixed doubles matches were played inside Apple Athletic. This is Jared and Megan and their baby opponents, Brody and Leah Wright. Leah is 14 and Brody is 13. They are going to be absolutely dominant in high school. Jared is glad that his life is more than just tennis. He thinks these kids must not do anything else but practise.

4 wheeling, again!

Blake and Jared went 4 wheeling on Tuesday up near Spencer. There was still snow banks in some places. Jared had fun riding through the snow. He almost got stuck, but seemed to be able to get through. (This is not the video I wanted to upload, the one I wanted must be too long or something because it wouldn't ever upload)

Blake found the video button on the camera and now he loves to take videos. He fills up the memory card really fast! But it's really fun to have these little video clips!

Jared's experiment

Jared wanted to see how many four wheelers our snowmachine trailer could hold, so he lined up three on one side and said if he had three more he could put six on it. I think his toys have got a little bit bigger as he has grown bigger.
Before he did his little experiment, washed the Escape and my car and squirted all the mud off of the 4 wheelers. So at least he did his work before he played with his big toys.

Even More 4 Wheeling!

Today, Blake and Jared went 4 wheeling again! This time they went up to Island Park. They took Natillie's daughter Jessica. They went to the same area that we went snowmachining. They said that it looks totally different without 5 feet of snow. It looks like Jared and Jessica found some mud again. They also found Grant Finn's cabin.
They fed the fish at Big Springs.
This bus had snow up to the windows and a snowman on top of it when we were there at Spring Break.

What a difference 3 months makes!

More 4 Wheeling

On Wednesday, Blake, Jared, Brian and Celia went 4 wheeling again by Swan Valley. They went a little different place. I have been trying to upload a video of them, but it won't upload, so you'll just have to see the still pictures. They found a river to forge, and a really steep mountain to climb, then they had to come back down it.
They took Brian's pickup this time.

Here they go, forging the river.
This is coming up the steep hill, it was pretty tough, but going back down was even tougher.

Celia got a turn to drive!

More 4 wheeling

Editors note: I thought this post was lost, becuase the video would never upload, I just found it! So I'm posting it now, even though I already posted the same thing again. I guess you'll just have to enjoy it twice!

Blake, Jared, Brian and Celia went 4 wheeling again this afternoon. They hooked the trailer onto Brian's pickup and went to a different place by Swan Valley. They forged a river and found a very steep hill to climb, then they had to go back down the hill. They said it was quite an adventure!

I think Celia was pretty nervous as they were coming down!

So now you know how fun it is to ride 4 wheelers!

4 Wheeling!!!

We finally were able to go 4wheeling on Saturday. Blake, Jared, Brian, Celia and I went up near Swan Valley. It was really pretty, lush and green. There was some mud, but not much dust. It was a pretty fun day. After we were done 4 wheeling, we went to Swan Valley and had square ice cream cones.
Getting ready to off load the 4 wheelers.

Ready, set let's go!Here come Brian and Celia, with Jared behind them.

Jared was the last one in the line, and he got stuck in a large puddle. Blake and Brian got the tow rope and pulled him out, kind of like reeling in a big fish.
Jared got just a little bit muddy.

We found a really pretty waterfall, see the rainbow?

Tennis Anyone... or Everyone?

On Thursday, the weather turned out nice after a really cold, rainy morning and Blake just had to try playing tennis. He did pretty good, just didn't move too fast! After Randy challenged me in his last letter, I decided I'd better get practiced up so I went along to play. Blake and I played against Jared, and he beat the socks off us! I guess that tells you how bad I am, and how limited Blake's movement is. Oh well, it was fun anyway. It's so great to drive 30 seconds over to Matsuura's court!

Blake wraps his knee everyday, he says it just feels more stable that way.

I do have a racquet in my hand! Jared let me use one of his new ones, I really liked it!

Jared, in his perfect form!

He went to Idaho Falls 3 days last week to take some tennis lessons from Holger at Apple Athletc. He has really enjoyed it. He has also been using the ball machine, he should be really good by then end of the summer!

Update on Elder Purcell

This is the chart that I keep, tracking the time Randy has left. This was taken on his 13 month mark! He has been serving in Regina as a Zone Leader since the first part of February. He is now sserving with his 3rd companion since then. He has actually only served in two cities his entire mission. He started out in Regina, serving in two differenent areas there. He really likes being there because the that is where the temple is and he loves going to the temple. After his second area in Regina, he was transferred to Winnipeg, where he served in two different areas. Since he has been back in Regina, he has been serving in the Young Single Adult Ward. Serving in the YSA makes it a little difficult to find single people between the ages of 18 - 30 to teach. It is such a blessing to us here at home to have a missionary serving. One of the blessings is to see the growth of their testimonies, and to hear how they are growing. We miss him terribly, but we are so grateful that he is worthy and willing to serve. As you can see from the chart, we are counting the days until he comes home, but we are thankful that he's where he is and having experiences that will help him through the rest of his life.

Randy says he has learned so many skills that will help him throughout his life. I hope writing on the fridge is one skill he forgets! He says this is how they stay organized!

Snow in June????

This is what I saw when I looked out the window this morning!
Snow on the garden rows!

There really is something wrong with this picture. Sprinklers running on green grain, and yet when you look closer, snow on the roof and on the ground! It's just not right!

It just didn't seem like June 11th as I drove into town and could see snow on the roof tops, and the cars. The wind is blowing and it is cold! I can't hang the clothes on the line and the fireplace is on! Oh what a wonderful SUMMER day!

Mowing the Lawn

We have had so much rain that it's been impossible to get out and mow the lawn. Finally on Friday, there was enough of a break to get out there. As you can see it was pretty long!
We haven't really been doing much lately, everything has kind of been up in the air. haha. Blake has been trying to get his knee up as much as possible, which is helping it. He was almost walking normally yesterday.
