August 2023

August 1 - I got to take Annie to her riding lesson.  She was so excited to ride the horse! She said it was really fun!

August 3 -  The neighborhood kids love the puddle at the end of our driveway.

Aug 4 - We measured all the grandkids! This year is in red! They've all grown a lot!

We also got a current picture with all the Grandkids.  Top picture, Left to Right: Declan (5) Brody Bear (he would have been 6), Hallie (4), Annie (10), Clark (8), Molly (8), Penny (7 months), Maden (13), Ryder (8).

Brian and Aubrey had a gender reveal for their baby due in January! It's a girl! All the kids including Penny got to hit the piƱata, it was purple inside! That meant girl! Then we played hangman to figure out her name. Scottlynn Allie.  We're so excited!

August 5 - The day started with this beautiful sunrise! We went to watch Clark play soccer. He's such a fast runner!

August 6 - Breathtaking sky that looks like it's on fire!

August 7 - We had a visitor on our patio.

We have had the house that my parents lived in painted and recarpeted before Michelle and Adam move in.  Northwest bedroom, top picture is the before, bottom left after paint, bottom right after paint and carpet.

Southwest Bedroom.

Master Bedroom.

Living Room and Hall.

Stairs and Hall

Kitchen - The only before paint picture I had was before the garage sale!

Dining Room.  We are so pleased with the new look!

August 10 - The Hydrangea are looking so good!

August 11 - Another beautiful sunrise.  I had a thought about this sunrise, there were no clouds, so the light didn't reflect into the clouds making it even more spectacular.  That's kind of like life, when we have clouds or trials, it makes life all the better as we look back.

August 12 - Moving day for Michelle and Adam.  I'm not good at getting moving pictures. Samuel and Dallin rode in the trailer to make sure that nothing shifted! Hallie got to go mow "Grandpa Early's" lawn.

August 13 - Brian and Aubrey stopped by with their dogs.  Everyone loves little Paris, but she wasn't so sure about everyone, she hid under my chair. Molly played catch with Taz forever! We put Penny in a box and asked Cindy if we could mail Penny to her.

August 14 - Randy, Ryder, Blake and I took another trip to Schwartz Sturgeon Pond.  They caught a lot of fish! Ryder was very involved in it this year.

I had to hold the pole sometimes when they had a fish on both of the poles.

Since we were 3 miles from the Oregon border, we drove there so Ryder could say he had been in Oregon.  We turned around and came right back.  We ate at Cheesecake Factory and Blake had to use my glasses to see the menu.

We stayed at a new Fairfield Inn, but it didn't have a hot tub! Ryder practiced his swimming by going from one end to the other.

August 16 - Molly, Hallie, Penny and I walked to the Little Free Library in our neighborhood.  They picked out this book so we had to read it when we got home.  Penny is becoming a little scooter.

August 18 - Beautiful sunrise! Maden and Annie went with me to Parkwood Meadows to play bingo! Always an interesting experience. Ended the day with a beautiful sunset!

August 19 - The annual Mountain View Employee Appreciation Day at Tautphaus Park.  The kids had fun on the bounce toys.

More Bounce Toy fun.

Good food and fun at the zoo.

This is what you get when you let Ryder have your phone in the car on the way home. Funny boy.

August 20 - Blake is feeding Penny the last of the Trifle, she loved it!

August 24 - We took another walk down to the Little Free Library.  Molly and Hallie are sitting on the little bench looking at a book they chose.

Another gorgeous sunset!

August 25 - I just can't enough of these beautiful sunrises!

Maden came to bingo again, then we stayed at Parkwood Meadows for an end of Summer barbecue.  Kayleen and her cute kids and Julene and Lynn Parsons came for lunch with Mom and Dad.

I've decorated my front porch with sunflowers for the end of August and September.  I love how cheery it is!

August 26- Another beautiful start to the day.  This was especially interesting that the western sky was just as beautiful as the eastern sky!

I even have sunflowers in the entryway! I love it!

I rearranged all the decorations in the built ins in the living room.

We went on a little adventure.  Jared, Nikelle, Molly, Hallie, Penny, Ryder, Blake and I took off for Missoula, Montana.  Brian let us take his Sequoia so all 8 of us could fit. The kids were very good travelers.

Penny was such a happy girl.  We stopped in Deer Lodge, Montana for a little break and lunch.  We found a Little Free Library! Nikelle put a book in and we took three to read!

There was a fantastic park with a McDonald's next to it! Couldn't be better!

Having fun exploring the C'Mon Inn in Missoula.

We walked to a Cracker Barrel to eat after Jared and Nikelle left for the concert.

The kids had a great time in the swimming pools and hot tubs.

August 27 - We stopped at the Deer Lodge Park again on our way home.  It is such a nice park and the kids loved it!

More fun at the Deer Lodge Park, Blake napping in the car while Penny is trying to get his hair, waiting for our food at Pizza Hut in Dillon.

These Hydrangea are just amazing!

These clouds in the eastern sky were amazing! There was even some lightning in the clouds.

The western sky was very pretty too!

August 16, 22 and 28 - All these kids have started school again! Ryder, Molly and Clark are in 3rd Grade, Declan started Kindergarten, Annie started 5th Grade and Maden goes to 8th Grade! How did they get so old?

August 29 - We had a terrific wind storm with a little rain.  The rainbow was amazing, and it was also amazing to watch someone's trampoline fly across the field and land on someone's fence.

August 30 & 31 - Beautiful full moon in the eastern sky at night, and then again in the western sky the next morning.  God's creations are simply amazing!

August 31 - This little Penny girl is growing up so fast!
