Spring Break???

We left on Wednesday to go snowmachining one last time. That is what Jared wanted to do for Spring Break. We stopped in the mountains by Soda Springs and rode for a couple of hours, then we went on to Bear Lake. We stayed in a condo and went riding in the Paris canyon. There was about 2 feet of new powder, so there was plenty of snow!

Jared loves riding snow machines!

He led Blake and I on "an express route"! We didn't quite make the turn!

Thursday morning the straps holding the covers on were frozen down and very hard to get undone. Blake's hands were pretty cold!

We got stuck several times, but Jared says that is just part of the adventure!

Jared lost all his wisdom.........teeth

Last Monday, the first day of Spring Break, Jared did something way exciting! He had his wisdom teeth out! He got pretty swollen, and now his jaw is yellow, but he didn't have a lot of pain. This picture was taken on Monday night, before the swelling got too bad.

Still snowmachining!

Jared and Blake went to the Kilgore area yesterday to ride for awhile. They had great time, the snow was a liitle hard, but there was still plenty of it!

Jared tried doing some jumping or "popping wheelies"
Here's Blake going fast.

Blake was a good camera man, he caught Jared getting a little air.

Here's a little video of Jared jumping!

The beginning of the end

It was a happy day, it was a sad day. Friday marked the opening day of the 2009 Blackfoot High School tennis season. It was a happy day because the snow was off the courts and the sun was shining brightly! It was a sad day because it also marked the very last opening day of any kind of High School sports for the children of Blake and Diana Purcell! Holy cow, how can we be this old?!?!

Jared, playing at the net, and I'm taking pictures through the fence again.

He's playing mixed doubles with Megan Dalley. She was his partner from last year and they have played some tournaments together during the off season, and it showed. They looked like they did at the end of the season last year, very comfortable with each other. They won 6-0. 6-1!

Jared serving. The kids from Skyline didn't ever get the hang of his serve.

Church Ball

Since Jared didn't play school ball this year, he has been playing with the Groveland 1st Ward. It has been really fun and relaxing for him. He has been a leader on the team and they have had a great time. They have got along well and just had fun. On Thursday they played the Stake Championship game and won it, which means they have won all their games. Now they are in the Regional tournament this week.

Jared didn't do a lot of shooting, mostly passing, but he did make this nice three, and I even caught him in the air - not on the ground after the shot!

Jared was asked to the Blackfoot High Sweetheart Dance by Calleen Smith. During the day, they went to Calleen's house and made pizza and played games. Then later they had dinner at Sarah Nii's house, then they went to the ballgame (funny, huh) then to the dance. Jared said it was fun.

All ready for the "day date". Thank you Grandma for coming to take the picture!

Now, they are all ready for dinner and dancing!

Tennis, Tennis & more Tennis

There was another tournament at Apple Athletic Club this last week. There were alot of matches to watch. Everybody but me played, and they are telling me that I'm going to play in the next one. I'm not sure about that, we'll wait and see if I can get out of it! I'm really not very good!

Brian and Celia played mixed doubles.

Jared played mixed doubles with Megan Dalley. (School tennis season starts on Friday!)

Brian was the Champion of his singles division.

Celia played singles, too.

Blake and Brian played doubles.

Blake played singles.
,

Jared played doubles with Nate Kunz, too.

Ralphie and Colton

We had company for dinner on Sunday, my brother Randy and his family (Julie, Travis, Tanner, Chelsey and Matt and Colton) came to eat with us and my mom and dad. Brian and Celia came too, it was almost like Thanksgiving! We ate and played games and visited and got all caught up! Thanks for coming, and come again!

Jared and Brian loved holding Colton! As you can see Ralphie is very curious about the baby, he hardly ever let him out of his sight.

Ralphie had to be right where Colton was all the time. Usually, Ralphie is right where Celia is, but this time he was more worried about Colton.

I think this a cute picture of Colton and Brian, and you can see that Ralphie is right there!

Pictures from Randy!

We finally got Randy's package that he sent on Dec 31st. He sent some nice warm "tukes" (hats) and his memory card. He had sent a tuke home last year and Blake and Jared love it, so they told him on the phone on Christmas to bring more home with him. He found some on sale after Christmas and decided to send them now. Most of the pictures were of Christmas, he loved opening all the presents and since even the little tiny things were wrapped he had a lot to open!

He seems thrilled with everything, he LOVES Nutter Butters!

He even seems excited about a new tie! And thanks to Cindy, he has had a much warmer neck since Christmas!

This is a video he took on a lock down day, as you can see they have to do some thinking and creating to fill up their time on those days. They can't leave their apartment when it is -40 real temperature or wind chill. There is a recording at the Winnipeg Airport that they call every morning to get the temperature so they know if they can go out.

Randy was thrilled that they had baked potatoes!

He and Elder Willardson had got caught in a huge rainstorm, he said they were soaked to the skin. His planner and books were all wet, too.

More winter fun!

On Saturday, we left Bear Lake and headed home. We met Brian and Celia and Jared in Soda Springs and rode around some more. Brian has trouble with helmets and goggles. The goggles fog up, no matter what he does, so he doesn't love the snowmachining very much. Blake and I rode on one machine and the rest of them had their own. Celia got to be a pretty good rider, the only problem was turning the machine! She liked going up and down the hills.

This is Jared doing some tricks.

This is Celia and Brian just after the machines were unloaded.

Here comes Celia!

Blake and I, ready to go!

Jared, having a ton of fun!

Blake's trying to be a little tricky too.
